Radio trouble, what is compatible?

So my father and I just got our mini -z awds up and running this weekend, but when we bought them we didn't get the rtr kits, cause we figured we could use any 27 mhz radio we had.... But that doesn't seem to be the case,

we have been using the 27 mhz radio that comes with the Losi Mini T and the car acts very squirly. The biggest problem is it doesn't center when it comes of a turn. Lately It has started to act very glitchy, like intermitted throttle response.

our friend who as a rtr mini z formula car said his doesn't act this way a proposed that it had to do with the radio not being compatible with the mini z.

so I was wondering what suggestions people here had?
Is it the radio?
if so should I just get the kyosho radio, or something more serious like the KO propo? is there something around the 100 dollar mark or will I need to drop mucho money on this?

thanks in advance,
Tom

i think a good choice is the mx-a from airtronics. i think that its compatable to the mini zs and its a really great radio for the price. its on tower with a 50$ reciever and a servo for $63. its a good deal

Your 27mhz Losi radios will work just fine.

Mini Zs have a hiden adjustment pot for centering the steering. There is an access whole to the pot on the top plate under the Mini-Z lable. Rub accross it with your fingernail and you will find it. Use a very small plastic straight screwdriver to adjust the pot. I have used a jewlers screw driver but you must be careful not to short anything around the pot.

Turn your transmitter on. center the stearing pot on the radio. Turn on the car and turn the pot to visually center the wheels. Just get it close and use your radio for fine tuning.

As for the throttle glitching adjust your throttle trim on your radio.
