If your local hobby shop doesnt carry it then go to Tower Hobbies, if you dont mind the older body like 2001 or 2000 you can get ready set for around $100 bucks plus shipping. If you want newest F 1 body it is around $149 When you order one get the Kyosho diff at the same time and some softer tires. the car comes with 50s so get 20 or 30s or both plust the spring set for the front and rear. then you will be able to tune the car to drive it your way
I also have the radio shack batteries & charger. The night chargers light always turned off until recently. Since I have more than eight batteries now I decided to try the quick charger which cost more and only takes 5 hours but wonder why it takes longer. Where can I get the Rayovac charger at a fair price and will they charge my radio shack batteries? Oh, a good place for the F1 racer is www.modelshoponline. Hobby etc. has so much more but I remember the prices being considerably higher.
Alkaline batteries have higher internal resistance than NiMH\'s. So when the Alkalines are under a load, their voltage drops to about .8-.9v per cell due to internal resistance. NiMHs have less voltage drop, because they have less internal resistance. They may only drop to 1.1v per cell.
So the 4 Alkaline cells in the mini z might only put out 3.2-3.6v, wheras the NiMHs may put out 4.4v or so.
Also the NiMHs last longer too, cost little, so you would be stupid not to consider them.
well as the nimh can support a strong output over a longer time, i would imagine your car will seem faster. Alkaline may sound better but you will quickly run out of steam, acceleration will take much longer although the top speed may eventually (on a smooth hard surface) be better. Its like using alkaline in a digicam, the camera simply gives up but if you take those batts and shove them in a remote control they\'ll have months left in them.
> The F-1 WILL smoke all other Mini-zs! PROVIDING you
> run it on RECHARGEABLE NIMH batteries! ...
Why is that?
Good quality and new alkaline batteries provide 1.5 Volts (NiMH rechargeable only 1.2 V) and should make the mini-Z car go even faster? I agree that NiMH will last longer but the top speed...?
anyone using a Speed EX14 Pro? I am using those for my Z batteries as well as for the AAs on my futabe megatech jnior. they work great.
They discharge for you, then automatically trickle charges the batteries for awhile in slow charge mode, then goes into fast charge automatically as well.
It is a peak detection charger and the end result is great.
I use the batteries on my Z with two V2 turbos for 30mins. And it is enough for the races here. Our A mains race only runs for like 20mins max.
The Rayovac recharger is the best. It\'s affordable and takes one hr to charge and when the light indicatyors goes off, the battery is charged. The Radio Shack is a peice of junk. You have to time it yourself. Pathetic.
The powerex C204F 1-3 hour charger (depends on batteries) looks good. (there are good reviews on the net)
this one stops fast (at 500mHa) charge when battaries are full and
then continue in trickle mode (at 24 mHa) .
there are also leds that shows you the status of charging.
i just ordered one and waiting for it.
when i have it i\'ll let you know how it is.
I Think i have the same problem as you. i bout the 700 Mah Accurechargeable from energizer. and the batteries are great. but i have that stupid radioshack 6 hour charger that takes 14 hours to charge the batteries and doesn\'t shut off in time if u didn\'t run yur Ni-MH batteries all the way down to nothing! it sux.
I bought a Radio Shack recharger and Nimh batteries. I don\'t know if the batteries suck or the recharger is defective. I doesn\'t recharge properly and you have to track the recharging time yourself.
What\'s a good recharger and batteries? What brand Thanks in advance.
The F-1 WILL smoke all other Mini-zs! PROVIDING you run it on RECHARGEABLE NIMH batteries! Such as Energizer ACCUrechargeable NIMH, OR Rayovac Rechargeable NIMH batteries! The price may be a little high, but the acceleration and top speed willrise sooooo much you won\'t even be able to control the car for a week or so! It takes a while to get used to a car this small having that kind of speed!
The speed of a stock F1 versus the Racers is pretty much the same. However, the F1 smokes the Racers in terms of cornering and general handling. I don\'t have an F1 yet but I have played with my friend\'s (JimmyTheFish) and it is a great little car stock. All it really needs are softer tires and the X-Speed motor.

one is a f-1 and one is a car. the electronics are the same, except for the servo, it is alittle different. the chassis is way different. :D
I\'m new to the world of mini-z\'s and i would like to know what the differenc between the Mini-z formula 1 and the regular min_z\'s
