Hey guys. There\'s a great news on Mini-Z. Well this new got a little to do with driving skill but i think that you all should know. Previously i\'ve heard that the top speed of Mini-Z is 28.8km/h but yesterday i\'ve learned that some guy had it tuned to 40km/h!!!
I haven\'t test my machine yet. However i\'ve saw a device by Tamiya on sale here to test the top speed of Mini 4WD, it can be use on Mini-Z as well. But it\'s a little expensive, it\'s about US$38.

Hi there. Delight supply me make money online because I deprivation to be competent to run a mercantilism from my own national so I can earn money
speed checkers are not accurate... they are usually just used to compare between cars... best way is to gun it... or perhaps just race and actually car..
OH MY GOD! I am newbie in mini-z cars (my car didn't arrive yet ). I want have a fast mini-z but in mt country (Brazil) don't have much upgrades to it, and they are really expensives... but i want have a mini-z with about 15 mph. If I install a xpeed motor, put differential, bearing balls i get this speed??
Hi everyone. My 7.2v MR-02's speed on the Tamiya Speed Checker is 87-90km/h, with PN-S03.

I don't know the exact speed on the road (it should not be that fast), but I think enough fast. See and the check how it's fast/slow on the video at my webpage, if you have time. Thank you.

i've seen a mini z go 53mph on video with a large standing radar box
Does anyone know how fast the x-speed can go up to?
Whut i D to teas the speeds of my Maxxes is to take a GPS unit and Zip tye it to the frame and hope i dont crash. the GPS has a function on it to record max speed reached so its handy. im dissapointed to say it slows the Z \'s down to much to get a accurate reading seeing how heavy it is. if anyone wants to see my GPS, Maxxes, or minz\'s plz check out my new gallery on page 11 on readers rides
!
In real cars they have dyno comps, why not have top speed comps on a speed checker thingy?
Hello All,
Try this little trick. I\'ve used it for my cars and it seems to be quite accurate.
You fist find how many feet you travel per second, I have someone with a stop watch time me going through a certain distance (in feet). You take that time and divide it by how many feet the distance was and you got your feet per second.
Then you divide that by 1.4666 and it gives you your Miles Per Hour.
I do this three or four times to get an average and to improve accuracy of the person using the stop watch.
So far I know my stock powered T3 goes 20 MPH, my buddies 20 turn pan car can goes 33 mph.
Hope this helps,
Eric
My Friend is a cop and he was able to clock mine at 15 mph
The tamiya speed checker is on ebay for 12USD & shipping is 16USD.
I don\'t believe actual shipping is 16USD, but altogether its a great deal, some stores alone is selling it for 25USD without shipping.
THe speed checker can read KPH&MPH
The seller i believe his name hongkong cowboy, sometime his prices fluctuate from 18 to 12 USD but the shipping price is static 16USD.
Good luck guyS
Great idea! I\'ll have to try that- that is, if I can drive my car in a straight line for long enough. :)
I\'m new to Mini-z\'s but come from a Slot Car background. I have a timing system for slotcars that can be easily adapted for mini-z\'s. The software is on www.i2mnet.com
To make it work with mini-z\'s you will need a small piece of tape on your arial. These can be set at different heights for each car. Then you\'ll need a light source to shine accross the track. Small laser diodes will work best here.
For out and out speed tests then you just need two timing gates.
For those of you on a tight budget though. Draw two chalk lines a set distance appart. Then time your mini-z with a stop watch, and calculate the speed from that.
The calculation is Kph= D/(T/3.6)
Where
D is Distance in metres
T is Time in Seconds
I was thinking more along the lines of a radar gun, like the kind they use to clock baseball pitches.
add a weight to the rear axle? so its gota spin it? ;) weight comparible to the weight of the car being tested. but this also is not accurate unless u calculate it correctly... just slapping the weight on aint enough...
That makes sense. If you were able to clock a couple under real load and compare to the speed checker results you might be able to come up with a reasonable load factor that could be used to calculate a fairly accurate actual speed.
Any ideas how to clock one under real load? The rest is easy. :)
Some have used them for the Z... its not the most accurate way to find out though, its KMH so 40kmh is like 30 or so mph... and since its a NO LOAD (weight) test... its going to read faster then it realy is... so 40kph is realy about 15-25mph
Its not good for figuring real speed, but if you have 2 Z\'s and want to konw wich is faster... its good for comparison only.
Does anyone have one of those speed checkers? I\'m thinking about getting one. Does it measure in km/h and/or mph?
Its much safer than trying to drive my car along side my Mini-Z and check the speedometer. ;) Just kidding.
