water dipping question...

Ok, I'm kinda new to mini-z, but, doesn't water diping a motor cause a short circuit??? I mean...I've always heard: water and electricity don't mix...

nope it doesnt, cause the batteries make the armature polar so it works w/ the magnets on the inside to create the spinning. its magnetc if im mistaken

shapes the brushes to the commutator. the water makes the brushes wear very fast so they break in quicker :) and only salty water conducts electricity, as long as u dont add salt to the water you use, you should be OK

now.. maybe this might not be accurate advise... but i've done it a couple of times and it seems to work alright..

me and my mates run on a dusty concrete floor.. and after a while i noticed that the motor starts to slow down heaps.. so what I did was dip the slow runing motor in a cup of hot water about 3/4s of the way for a couple of seconds.. you can see all the crud come out of it.. then after that the motor runs as good as new..

so to answer the question.. i don't think it hurts at all.
