Hello
I burned out my F-3004, now I\'ve seen in dinball-shop that they\'re selling this two tiny F-3004.
What exactly is the function of one F-3004? I think its a Voltage-steering thing.
Very interesting small article with highres Pics of a tuned Modena 360-R.

At the bottom, they say:

We order from Japan Hitachi the parts no FET 3006, because Japan Kyosho also use Hitachi FET 3004, we solder remove 3004, and then solder in new FET 3006 10pcs, then the high speed will increase to 38km/h.
Hmmm... ?

Hmm when it comes to these speeds I\'m scared I\'ll fry my Z. We should all install PC coolers in the trunk :)
Okay, I admit this didn\'t really add much to this thread.
lol...R_evo ya i have a 1 in. by 1 in. pc fan...very small...the secound bigest i saw is a 1.5 in..whoa that dosent help with this thred but i think we should all buy another miniz to test how far we can make the mini-z go =D:D
Heh, I should get my hands on the smallest pc-cooler I can find. Result: Evo 6,5 Intercooled. Next stop: hardware store!
the 3004s are FETs, Field Effect Transistors. They regulate the amount of current and voltage going to your motors. Hence you can vary the speed from your transmitter. The draw back on the original Zs are that the 3004s have got limited capacity. Think of it as a small gate, and the 3006 as a bigger gate. Replacing the 3004 with 3006s allows you to let more current and voltage thru to your motor, that makes it faster, if you put a few more of these 3006s or 3004s in parallel, it doubles its capacity, and just makes the gate bigger, allow more rush to the motors. Same principle in the turbo units, if you notice, the turbo units have got FETs as well, in most cases 4 of them. which in turn means each channel has 2 FETs, which is essentially doubling your original capacity. On my Z, i have got two external GPM V2 turbos in parallel, that results in a total of 8 FETS, 4 per channel, hehe, makes your car hell fast, but then again, too much power at the compromise of good handling.
so... with a bigger gate... more juice gets to the motor, right? if more juice gets to the motor.. then wouldnt that mean lower battery life?
eh purpleduck!! hehe,
ya, more juice to the motor means lower batt life. depends how hard you drive too and what pinion gears you using and how heavy your car is.
generally, mine last for 30mins max. but never been a problem cause the races here last 20mins max for A main races. =)
and thats if your running NiMH w/ 700+ maH? = 30 min life...
yap yap. 700mah. Even my 750s dont last more than 30mins. sometimes, during tag races, for the fun of it, when we are ddriving real hard and chasing each other like dogs, car last 20mins only.
alrighty... cool.. yeah, 1/2 is still quite a bit of time, just had to clear some stuff up
give it a try, will work great. only bottleneck is forking out the dough for two of those V2 turbo units. hehe, i got a couple of spare 3004s, as soon as i can figure a way to replace the variable resistor on my other receiver\'s servo box, i might solder these 3004s on the existing ones and make an internal turbo unit. hehe.
hey purple duckie!! how come i dont see your photo album anywhere? got pics of your Z to share?
argh man, ive explain this too many times...
sorry, havent really had the time in the summer to get pics up due to a full time job and college crap.
and now that im in college im hoping to have a more time to do so. as of now, my camera is in the shop getting fixed... hopefully... if not ill hafta do it the old fashioned way... pics and scanning!!!
patience is a virtue...
extremely sorry for everyones inconvenience... really wanna show off my cup holder body...=)... racer and custom bod.
haha, okay dude.
i trust in time your pics will come. i just uploaded mine about 30mins ago. go take a look. will be looking forward to seeing your pics soon .
Hey. I saw that site with the guys replacing the 3004 w/the 3006 FET\'s. I\'ve also seen someone on eBay auctioning off his services to add FET\'s to your MiniZ. I\'ve been searching for the past week and can not find any place to buy the 3006\'s. If anyone can help that would be great.
from where i am, there is no way of purchasing FET3006s. Only way to get them is to purchase from Hitachi SemiCon themselves, and they only accept minimum order of 2500 pieces. There is an alternative though, it is equivalent to the 3004 at least, 607-U6T4. I do not have the exact specs of these guys, i dont even know the manufacturer. But here in singapore, we can order components thru two companies, Farnell and RS, i think these companies are world wide. they do have similar FETs with similar specs, they work out to be less than US2 dollars a piece. cheap eh? find a source and there you are, endless internal turbos.
but gottta warn you first, should you start adding fets to your boards, you might have to change the capacitor value on your existing board, that i got no idea what value to change.
=)
Hi guys,
I\'m Tango from HK.
We already give HIT3006 or IR7389 up as it not yet enough for our races nowadays.
But, try to have layers on those FET and afterwards, you can gain more power to handle super motor like modified PN-S01.
We\'re now using motors at around 37 turns single with PN magnets. very good accel with 9T and of coz, on the tamiya 4WD running machine, can have a reading at around 40km/h.
Some guys had hand wound 35T single where can run at 42-44km/h.
may get back to you guys later for updated new here in HK.
bye~:D
On my car I have a 12 fet setup (Internal Turbo!) way faster than any external turbos, IMO!;)

in toronto here i found 3004 and 7389
the 3004 is only 41cent each
the 7389 is only 78cents each
but the 3004 has to order a minimum of 4000 :(

is there a possibility that you can give us the name of the company? e-mail or phone number perhaps?

In Hong Kong, most competition Mini-Z cannot run more than 15 minutes...
I am selling 7389 on ebay and my web site for those that care ;) -- cheap too :D -- dont have all that many left.
