i race the clk at our local miniz track. i was wondering what other bodys people have been using with sucess?what bodys car use the wide rims and tires? does a shorter wheelbase body handle different?(viper vs. clk)
In most cases I prefer the longer wheelbase cars since they are more stable at speed and in the turns. However, if the track you are racking on demands sharp, quick, successive turns the shorter wheelbase cars are better. I don\'t have a comprehensive list of body widths. I do know my Ferrari 355, CLKs, NSX and Viper are all using wide tires while my S2000 is using narrow.
i found that the wide clk wheels fit the viper. i like the viper or nsx on short tight tracks and the clk on longer smoother tracks. most guys at my track eather run the clk or the viper.
I also found that the longer wheel base cars are alot more stable than the shorter cars. Also to get better traction and a wider contact out of the regular stock tires, turn them inside out and back on the wheel. This will put more rubber on the surface for less spinouts. I\'ve done this on both my (old body style) Skylines.
CLK and NSX are the kings of my track, Kyosho should do more long bodies, now is quite boring to race against 10 people who have the same car, the only solution is to custom paint it.
We\'ve got a national champion here using a Vitz (Toyota Echo) Its a tiny lil car, but he corners like mad. Everything depends on your driving skills, and your settings. Simply by changing the camber and toe will change your stability dramatically.
People\'ve been saying Ferrari and NSX base are good at stock, but who\'s mini Z are stock anyway?
I\'ve got a RX7, narrow. But I\'ve bought a plain NSX body from Dinball for $13USD, and will spray paint it myself. It sounds like a pretty good deal, especially when it can fit wide wheels. :)
agreed, its all about your driving skills... ive dominated the track down here w/ my altezza body. now i mainly race ferarri bodies. the 355 or 360 depending on the track....
i think it depends on your trip/liking. or what car you want to drive. i have a takata nsx it handles like a slot car so i wanted more challenge so i got an Audi TT now im still occupied to make it handle like a sloty. im almost done. just need a custom spring. [/b]
