In the photo gallery here I saw the picture of the Mini Z OverLand with monster truck tires on it. Does anyone know were to find these for my OverLand???
Don\'t realy know how the truck looks but i know pn-racing has done a monster overland too, and they used tires from a tamiya coldbuster model set, one of thos sets with the lil moter thas powered by 2 AA\'s. But it looks like they have fitted those wheels over normal rims firts couse they dont fit at once (I know because I have them myself) maybe I\'ll make a monster overland too but first I\'ll try and make a track for the lil fella.
There are some toy truck wheels that fit right over the stock overland wheels. I think its a Tonka. All you have to do is drill out the center so you can access the wheel nut on the stock wheel. There are also some monster truck wheels from Tamiya that will work the same way. Those are the ones that PN sells.
it's easy to install- dremel out the inner spokes and trim the inner rim aand slide them on the stock wheel/tire. !a warning! you run the chance of frying a fet by using the monster tires without a turbo/fet stack. it\'s happened to alot of overlanders.
yes, for lifting the body you need custom lift kits. i have seen many versions of similar ideas. i happen to make brass lift bars that raise the body 1" above stock height that screw on to the stock or alloy damper mount (existing holes). if your interested in obtaining a pair, email me.
FET is short for MOSFET. They have something to do with like drawing more current from the motor or something like that. Basically, any motor other than the stock motor and the X-Speed require a FET upgrade to run, otherwise you will blow your FETS. If you run a high tooth pinion with no FET upgrade and an X-Speed, you will probably blow your FETs. Blown FETs are not good. I'm really not an expert on this I'm doing the best I can...
By the way, LEGO tires are not Super Swampers. Err, I think...

i recently aquired some nice tires for my overland!

i snapped some pictures of my white pajero lifed on momster tires today!
:D
That looks so nice.......
Doesn't it kind of limit the degree of turning on the wheels?
not to mention the excess stress on the motor & fet stack?
thanks
yes it limits the turning radius but you can switch to the long front damper and it works much better and with the body lifted you can't really tell.
the chassis i will be using the monster wheels on has a fet stack so it's taken care of
To anyone who has a lifted pajero overland..How did you get the body to mount so high off the chassis. Were the parts custom made?

i just got my tamiya wheels/tires installed!
first up what is a fet? and if i wanted to fit leggo tyres (super swampers)
on an overlander what would i have to do with the fet or what ever it is?
ps. sorry if i should know what a fet is, i'm new to rc.

i used xmod evolution tires from the offroad kit. you have to take off some plastic but it's pretty easy.
