I just broke my carbon fiber h-plate!!!! I was using the 0.4 mm (smallest of set) Powerline carbone fiber h plate, and reversed into a bumb, and the thing just split in half!!!!!! Now I change to the 0.5 mm and the suspension is much different!! It totally sucks, and it's super bumpy! :( :( :( :(
What should I do? File down the other h-plates, or buy new ones? I don't want Powerline, cause I found the quality of it now!!! To bad the rest of the hop ups I got are mostly also all powerline too..

What kind of surface do you run your Z on? It might help to buy some shocks.
hmm... well.. dont be discouraged.... my Kyosho h-plate broke as well, and i was even using roll shocks... =)... however, my h-plate was hella old ( if that even matters)... roll shocks should help out a great deal
We've noticed that the Kyosho carbon h-plates seem to hold up the best out of most of the carbon h-plates, including powerline, mzracer, and eagle. If you still run into problems breaking the Kyosho carbon h-plates, Megatech does make a STEEL one (also a fiberglass one).
I did finally recommend the steel one to a customer that went through about 5 sets of Kyosho h-plates...he was racing his car around outside on pitted concrete. That solved the problem, but your "typical" Mini-Z racer usually won't have need of a steel h-plate.
i found that the h plate is the limiting component to better and more realistic suspension. taking a sheet of hard material and bending it causes it to snap back violently and not just to its original postion, but further and then snapping back again, etc. this snapping action makes a mini-z bouncy when cornering or accelerating on surfaces like low-pile carpet and sidewalks (concrete). in my experimentation, removing the h plate altogether in favor of a free play hinge of some sort resulted in better traction, power distribution to wheels, and cornering. this results, however, are dependent upon the installation and proper tweaking of the rear shock and roll shock. :o
huh? a hinge? could you post some pics of this?
